What is the HOVER Community?

This is a space to talk about all things home improvement — repairs, remodels, and everything in between. 

We created this community to connect homeowners and home improvement professionals (contractors, architects, interior designers, etc.) who are interested in sharing resources, perspectives, and experiences within the home improvement space.

What is HOVER? HOVER lets you create an interactive model of a home using your smartphone camera. This model can be used to measure homes, visualize designs, and help create project estimates.

There are so many ways to get involved. How you participate is up to you. We’ll also occasionally award our most engaged members with gift cards, HOVER swag, or feature them on the community page.

What's in it for me?

There are so many ways to get involved: 

  • Interact: Ask questions, exchange advice, and connect with different HOVER teams and community members about home improvement and ownership.
  • Participate: Easily participate in quick polls, surveys and other activities on your own schedule so we can gain and share insight about trends within the industry. Your participation may even earn you a surprise gift. 
  • Make an impact: Be among the first to see what the HOVER teams are working on and give direct feedback to help shape our product. Receive invitations to more in-depth research projects and conversations with HOVER teams.

We’ll also occasionally award our most engaged members with gift cards, HOVER swag, or feature them on the community page.

How do I participate?

New activities will be displayed on the main dashboard, and depending on your notification settings, you may also be notified by email. You can manage your notifications under your profile settings. You can also visit the community discussion board at any time to start a new conversation or join one already in progress.

What if I forget my login information?

If you have forgotten your login information, not to worry, it’s really easy to reset. Just go to the main login page and click "Forgot Password". An email will be sent to you shortly with a link to reset your password.

What if I want to change my login information?

You can change your password or username at any time. Simply click on your profile photo on the top right-hand corner of the page and a drop-down menu will appear. Select “Settings" and then choose the "Change Password" tab to enter your new password.

What can others see about me?

Members have their own customized profile displayed for the HOVER Community you typically only share your username, not your full name). When you register, you can upload a photo for your avatar, this can be any photo to which you have rights and it does not have to identify you. On your profile, any fields that have a ‘lock’ icon beside them will only be visible to community administrators.

Will the information I enter be visible to others?

The community is intended to provide an engaging experience for all participants, with discussion and connection between members at its core. Having said that, there may be certain activities that will be private so members feel comfortable sharing openly and honestly. Each member will have a limited, personal profile displayed that other members of the community can see. You will be able to contact other members of the community using the community's private messaging if you choose to do so. For open activities, you will be able to see comments, discussions and ideas from other community participants and your comments, discussions and ideas will also be visible.

Why do different people get different questions?

We may target surveys to certain groups or individuals based on different criteria. The questions you receive will depend on the topics you told us are most important and interesting to you. We created this community for you, and therefore we want to make sure you get a unique experience that fits you best!

Can I do all the activities at once?

Yes, anything that is open when you login can be completed. There will always be new surveys and activities added though, so check back regularly!

Can I make multiple submissions per activity?

Sometimes you'll have the opportunity to make multiple, or even an unlimited number of submissions in an activity! Other times, you'll only be able to complete the activity once.

Can I invite my friend or family member to join the HOVER Community?

Absolutely! You can invite other homeowners or contractors who are interested in joining the discussion around home improvement by using the “Refer a Friend” feature

Which fields are mandatory?

Participation in the HOVER Community is optional, but if you choose to participate you are required to complete some mandatory fields in order to progress through the questions and activities. Mandatory questions are indicated in the usual way using a red asterisk.

How much time will it take?

You are encouraged to participate as often as you like. Your contributions will help discussions flourish and help our community and company evolve and grow. Plus, the more you participate the more likely you are to be rewarded for your contributions.

Do sessions time out?

Yes, please note that your session will time out after 1 hour of inactivity. Therefore, if you walk away from your computer in the middle of submitting to an activity, you will lose your submission if it’s not submitted within the time-out period. You will also be logged out of your account after 24 hours of inactivity.

What are badges and what do they mean?

Badges are awarded for being active and participating regularly in the community. Everyone in the community can see your badges, and they help you stand out in the community. You can check out all badges, and what to do to earn them on your personal profile.

What if I want to stop participating in the HOVER Community?

We would be sad to see you go, but if you wish to be removed from the HOVER Community please email us at [email protected] with the subject line:

"Account Closure Request: HOVER Community"

The support team will close your account and remove your profile information, including email address, avatar, and username. All information you've posted within the community will no longer appear publicly.

Who is here to help?
